Policies and Procedures for Students
Dear Parents/Guardians,
As we gear up for the new academic term, we would like to highlight some important updates regarding our
school policies. These guidelines play an integral role in maintaining a safe and conducive learning
atmosphere while fostering a sense of discipline among our students.
Starting from the commencement of classes after the summer break, we kindly request that all students and parents carefully read, understand, and strictly adhere to the following rules and regulations.
Starting from the commencement of classes after the summer break, we kindly request that all students and parents carefully read, understand, and strictly adhere to the following rules and regulations.
- Timely Arrival: Students must arrive on the school campus by 7:55 a.m. sharp. The school gate will close at 8:05 a.m., after which no student will be allowed to enter. Any student who is frequently late will be sent back home for the day.
- Leave and Sick Leave: Any leave (planned or unplanned) must be reported to the class teacher in advance. In case of illness, a medical certificate is mandatory for absences longer than three days. Parents are requested to inform the school through a diary note, a WhatsApp message, or a written application.
- Change in Address: Parents must inform the school immediately if there is any change in address, phone number, or emergency contact details.
- School Communication: All school notices, circulars, and important announcements will be sent via the official WhatsApp groups and student diary. Parents are expected to check messages and diary regularly and respond promptly if required.
- Regular School Uniform: Students are required to wear the complete school uniform (summer or winter, depending on the season). The uniform must be clean, properly ironed, and worn with the school tie, belt, and polished black school shoes.
- House Uniform: To promote teamwork and spirit, the school has introduced four houses for the Primary Section. Wednesdays and Saturdays are designated as House Days, and all students must wear the prescribed house uniform on these days.
- Scout & Guide Uniform: The school has adopted The Bharat Scouts & Guides as a co-curricular activity. “Cub and Bulbul” programs will be introduced for students of Grades III to V, while “Scout and Guide” will be for Grades VI to VIII. This initiative is aimed at developing character, leadership, and a spirit of service among students. Students who wish to participate must register with their class teacher and are required to wear the official Scouts & Guides uniform on designated days.
- Personal Grooming:
- Boys must maintain neatly trimmed and combed hair.
- Girls must style their hair neatly, preferably in two plaited ponytails.
- All students must keep nails short, clean, and trimmed at all times. Shoes must be polished.
- Personal Grooming:
- Weekly Inspections: Regular checks will be conducted to ensure proper uniform, hygiene, and grooming standards are followed.
- Identification of Belongings: All personal belongings such as lunch boxes, water bottles, blazer, sweaters, and napkins must be labelled with the student’s name, class, and section to prevent loss.
- Classwork & Assignments During Absence: In case of a student’s absence, classwork and assignments will not be shared daily through WhatsApp groups. Instead, work will be provided on designated days, especially before examinations, to ensure students are not overburdened and can catch up systematically.
- Mandatory Items: Students must carry their Almanac (school diary) and Identity Card every day without fail.
- Prohibited Items: Students are strictly prohibited from bringing mobile phones, electronic gadgets, jewellery, fancy watches, toys, magazines, sharp objects, or maintaining fancy hairstyles. If such items are found, they will be confiscated and returned only to the parents, along with a fine of ₹1000.
- Lunch Policy: Only healthy food should be sent in lunch boxes. Junk food, chocolates, and aerated drinks are not permitted. The school observes a strict half-hour lunch break.
- Birthday Celebrations: Birthday celebrations must be simple. Cakes or extravagant gifts are not allowed. Parents may send small good brand chocolates costing up to ₹10. They may also choose healthier options such as pieces of coconut and mishri, or any stationery item costing up to ₹10 only.
- Late Lunch Delivery: Parents who drop lunch boxes after the start of the school day must ensure that the boxes are delivered at least 30 minutes before the designated lunch time to ensure smooth distribution.
- Lunch Box Placement: Lunch boxes must be placed at the designated counter near the main entry gate and should be clearly labelled with the student’s name, grade, and section.
- General Rule: Students are advised not to take half-days.
- Planned Early Departure: If parents know in advance that their child needs to leave early, they must provide a written note in the student’s diary in the morning. Approved half-day leave will only be granted at 12:30 p.m. Students will wait in the designated area until they are picked up.
- Unforeseen Emergency: In case of emergencies, parents/guardians requesting early departure must collect a gate pass from the office and wait at least 15 minutes for the process. Parents should not rush or directly approach the classrooms, as students will be escorted by staff.
- Examination Leave: Students must avoid taking leave during examinations except under unavoidable medical emergencies. A written application accompanied by a valid medical certificate must be submitted.
- Exam Schedule Requests: Parents should not request the school to conduct early or late exams. No re-exams will be arranged (except oral or viva exams).
- Missed Examination: If a student is absent during an exam, the exam paper may be provided to parents (on demand) after the exam for the child to attempt at home. However, these will be assessed by parents solely and can be considered only for the student’s evaluation.
- Prior Leave Information: If prior information about the absence is provided, the leave will be marked in the progress report, and final marks will be calculated excluding those papers.
- Promotion Policy: Promotions will depend on overall performance in academics, attendance, and conduct. Once declared, exam results will not be reconsidered.
- Respect for School Property: Students are expected to respect school property, including furniture, walls, books, and classroom displays.
- Damage to Property: Any damage (intentional or accidental) must be reported immediately. The cost of repair or replacement will be charged as a fine to the responsible student.
